Thinking about the local area, what are your favourite local facilities and why?

What is desperately needed are safe cycle routes to the station which do not involve cycling on the A1000. Particularly key for me are a safe route east to the Hosptial, south to link up with the cycle way down the Dollis Valley, north through Barnet town centre to link up with national route 12 to Hatfield and east to New Barnet station. If you simply build lots of houses with space for cars you will simply add to the crazy traffic congestion in Barnet. Barnet needs safe walking and cycling routes, not more space for 4x4s!

I love the area round the station. Access should be improved (the steep path is difficult for some) but you dont seem to mention that. However, I love the 'village like' approach to the station, all the old tress by the road and the lack of development. More shops are not needed, Barnet High street is just around the corner. There are plenty of empty shop units so why build more? I am deeply worried about the idea to remove parking from the station. How does that make sense? Surely this will encourage more people not to use the tube and simply to drive. This car park is such an important asset to the area, it would be a disaster if it was taken away. This parking belongs to the people of Barnet. The greed of developers seems to come first however. How will commuters from Hertfordshire park if the parking is removed or reduced? This developent is a terrible idea.
